Regex Find — Privacy Policy

Regex Find is a browser extension that searches the text of the web page you are viewing using regular expressions.

What we collect

Nothing. Regex Find does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or usage data. It has no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising or remote configuration, and it makes no network requests.

What is stored, and where

• Preferences (default search flags, highlight colours, whether history is on) are stored with chrome.storage.sync. If you are signed in to Chrome with sync enabled, Google syncs them between your own browsers under Google’s privacy policy. We never receive them.
• Pattern history (your last 20 search patterns) is stored only on your device with chrome.storage.local. You can clear it, or turn it off, on the options page.
• Page content is read only inside your browser, only on the tab where you open Regex Find, and only while the find bar is open. It is never stored or sent anywhere.

Uninstalling the extension deletes all of this data.

Permissions

• activeTab and scripting: show the find bar on the current tab when you press the shortcut or click the toolbar icon.
• storage: save your preferences and pattern history as described above.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this URL with a new effective date.
